POOLE 44 STARS 46

LEWIS KERR believes King’s Lynn must use their excellent win at Poole as a “springboard” to get revenge over local rivals Ipswich.

The Poultec Stars bounced back to winning ways with a sensational 46-44 win at their bogey track Wimborne Road.

It wasn’t enough to stop the Pirates taking the Shield after their 10-point win at the Adrian Flux Arena earlier in the week.

But Kerr now reckons they can get their season up and running with another win over the Witches this Monday.

He said: “We needed that. All the boys were really fired-up after losing to Ipswich and then at home to Poole.

“I don’t think those two defeats reflected how we had been riding. But we were all back on it tonight and that’s what this team is capable of.

“We have so much ability here. It was great to see Robert Lambert and Kasper Andersen back in amongst the big points and it was very solid from everyone.

“Now we’ve got to use this win as a springboard for Ipswich at the Adrian Flux Arena on Monday night. I think our season starts here now.

“I don’t think many teams will get a result at Poole. We’ve shown a lot of spirit to come and do this after the previous two defeats.

“This side has got real guts and determination. We were annoyed at ourselves for losing on Monday. Now we’ve got to use this as a springboard and get revenge against Ipswich. But I’m pleased that we’ve given the fans someone to smile about at last.”

Poole zipped into an early lead on the south coast but a fired-up and back on-song Kasper Andersen grabbed a crucial 5-1 with Erik Riss in Heat 8 to draw the sides level.

It then got even better as Robert Lambert got his mojo back to reel off three successive wins. That included two maximum heat wins in Heats 13 and 15 with Thomas Jorgensen and that man Riss outstanding once again. That rounded off a fine win for the Poultec Stars.

POOLE 44: Josh Grajczonek 9, Brady Kurtz 7+1, Nico Covatti 7, Nicolai Klindt 7, Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen 6+2, Richie Worrall 5+1, Jack Holder 3+2

KING’S LYNN 46: Robert Lambert 11, Erik Riss 9+2, Kasper Andersen 6+1, Ty Proctor 5+2, Thomas Jorgensen 5+2, Michael Palm Toft 5+1, Lewis Kerr 5
Poole win 94-86 on aggregate.
