KING’S Lynn co-promoter Dale Allitt hopes next week's Evening with Lewis Kerr on Monday January 13 (7pm) will be the first of many social events at the Adrian Flux Arena.
Supporters will be able to get an insight into Kerr’s life from the early days in motocross, to being a speedway rider and everything in between. And the Stars’ chief believes it is an opportunity not to be missed.
“Lewi is a local lad and he is very popular at Lynn,” said Allitt “As always with modern day speedway riders, a lot of people will see him on a bike, but not everyone knows that much about him.
“He has been at the club a long while now after coming through with the Young Stars. He was very, very good for them, and he was an excellent captain in 2013 - when they had their best season with Robert Lambert also being in the team as well!
“For any King’s Lynn fan, it will be a good night because you will come away knowing a lot more about Lewis Kerr and I am sure there will be some fun stuff in there as well.
“He has got a wicked sense of humour and he is a fun guy to be around. It will be good to see Lewi relaxed away from the race scene and like I say, people won’t be disappointed.
“It will be nice see everyone having a get-together and talk about the sport with new the season still a couple of months away. Obviously, the team will be fully announced by then as well so, everyone will know where we’re at.
“We do want to push forward that we’re a family club. I think it would be nice to put on a few events especially in the close-season to keep everyone involved and obviously, there are a lot of friendships made in speedway too.
“From a management point of view; Buster (Chapman), Peter (Schroeck) and I, are quite busy on race nights and it can be a stressful time so, it will be nice for fans to see us in a different way.”
Tickets for the special ‘Evening with Lewis Kerr’ are priced at £12 in advance or £12.50 on the night (including food), £10 (without food), under-12’s £7 and are payable by cash or credit card.
