KLSSC - OUR FIFTH YEAR

Friday February 14, 2020
KING’S Lynn Speedway will once again enjoy backing from the club’s loyal Supporters group this year.

KLSSC (King’s Lynn Speedway Supporters Club) will celebrate their fifth year by once again working with the club for the benefit of everyone.

It’s a relationship which works superbly with committee members and other helpers assisting on racenights at the Adrian Flux Arena.

Chairperson Theresa Carman said: “We felt the fans could be given some extra experiences on race nights to enhance their night like selecting their Rider of the Night, to watch a race from the centre, to accompany riders on their track walk, to do the meeting coin toss, regular face painting for the youngsters, competitions etc.

“Of course I needed help to organise the club and having been supporting the Stars since 1977 I have a few friends around the place!

“So long term fans Jo Trueman, who became vice Chairperson, Jamie Medler, Lorna Bramble, Emma Romaine and Andrew Howell agreed to form the first year committee.

“The management of the Stars agreed to the majority of the race night perks. The Committee, who have since been joined by Tracey Wilson with Emma and Andrew standing down, has gone on to organise minibus trips to many Stars away meetings (only made possible with willing drivers, thank you Peter, Kevin, Gary and Dave!) and coach trips to the British Speedway GP in Cardiff, the British Final and Speedway of Nations at the National Speedway Stadium in Manchester, an Easter Egg giveaway on the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Children’s Ward in King’s Lynn and a rider night.

“Last year we organised a VIP Night in August having approached club sponsors Adrian Flux and MRC for use of their VIP box at the stadium, they generously agreed so our members could watch their speedway from the box balcony, it was a special experience.

“So 2020 means more of the same for returning and new KLSSC members.

“KLSSC have two new Committee members on board for 2020, Alan and Andrea Colby, to bring some new ideas to the club. Alan will be putting his photography skills to good use on the KLSSC social media platforms.

“Details of a three day coach trip that KLSSC hope to run to the Championship Pairs meeting at Somerset Speedway and then onto the British GP at Cardiff Principality Stadium in July will be released to members soon, as well as details of a planned two day trip to the Speedway of Nations Final in Manchester in May.”

Memberships can be renewed or started at the Stars Press and Practice Day in March, when the 2020 membership package will be finalised. The cost remains the same, £10 for adults, £8 concessions and £5 for under 18s.

The Committee of KLSSC would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member for supporting the club as well as every speedway fan who has taken part in their fundraising 50/50 draws on race nights.
