HARTEL READY TO RETURN

Saturday April 18, 2020
NEW King’s Lynn signing Michael Hartel has vowed to return to the UK as soon as the season can start.

German racer Hartel is back in his home country after travelling to Lynn in March for press day which was postponed.

And he’s revealed he left his van at friends which means he’s ready to go as soon as the sport is given the green light.

He said: “We made the decision to go home before press and practice last month because we saw the situation was going to be the same as it was in Germany with everywhere in lockdown.

“I have kept my van at my friends in the UK because I thought it could be like this for a long time when we went home. Since then, I haven’t been on my bikes but I have done some practice on a motocross bike and I have tried to keep fit.

“We all love speedway. I made the decision two or three years ago when I finished my school education to make a career in the sport and after having some bad injuries in the last year or so, I want to kickstart things with King’s Lynn in the UK.

“It is difficult to say what will happen in a month or two which is the problem. We can only hope that we can run speedway meetings this season.”

Minors and Brady Stars are pressing ahead with a third edition of their 2020 souvenir programme.
