STARS SKIPPER HAILS HERO LAMBERT

KING’S Lynn skipper Lewis Kerr has sung the praises of teammate and fellow Norfolk boy Robert Lambert.

Lambert has made a stunning start to the season in Poland where they have been racing with restricted crowd numbers.

He’s been piling up the points for Rybnik and has beaten the best riders in the world on a regular basis.

Kerr is full of admiration for ‘Ruthless’ who first rode for Lynn’s Development team back in 2013.

“Robert’s start to his season in Poland has been incredible and he’s making some great starts, but when he does miss the gate he has great speed as well,” he said.

“The speed he is carrying is allowing him to pass riders so his confidence must be sky high right now.

“His form is so good and his European Championship performances have come as no surprise to me.

“He has matured so much over the past 12 months but it was only a matter of time before it clicked.

“To show the maturity in the Ekstraliga is credit to him and his team for the hard work they have put in.

“Fingers crossed the old lion bar can keep it going.”

Stars co-promoter Dale Allitt is in regular contact with Lambert who confirmed he would have been ready to return to the UK to race for the club if the season has started and rules permitted him to do so.

It’s almost certain he will ride alongside triple world champion Tai Woffinden for Great Britain at the Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations – the World Pairs championship –min Manchester in October when they will start amongst the favourites for the gold medal.
