KING’S Lynn have swooped to sign talented British youngster Elliot Kelly as part of their future plans.

Kelly, 16, was due to line up for Mildenhall in the National League this year and has now linked up with the Stars.

“It’s great to be part of a club with such a rich history,” he said. “It’s one of the most professional clubs in the sport and it’s great to have their help and guidance.

“I’m looking to be back at Mildenhall next season to continue my development, they are good to me and I enjoy being with them.

“And I’ve enjoyed a practice at King’s Lynn, it’s a great track. It’s a decent journey from Teesside down to Lynn but I’m aiming to be a full time King’s Lynn rider in the future.”

Delighted Stars co-promoter Dale Allitt said: “This underlines our commitment to working with young British riders.

“Elliot is a rider I believe in, he has good ability on the bike and we’ll do all we can to support him.

“We are pleased to be working with our friends at Mildenhall to help his development and we welcome him to King’s Lynn.

“I’m looking forward to the day when he can make his debut for us in the Premiership. It may be a while away at this stage but he can achieve good things if he approaches the sport in the right way which is what he has been doing so far.”

Kelly will ride in the British Youth Championship at Scunthorpe this Sunday which is the first competitive meeting in the UK since the Benevolent Fund event in March.

“I’m looking forward to some competitive racing and I hope to get a few points under my belt,” he said.

“It should be a good meeting and the line-up is pretty strong.”
