LYNN LOOK TO MORE RACING

Friday September 04, 2020
KING’S Lynn Stars co-promoter Dale Allitt wants to stage more meetings before the end of next month.

Allitt was delighted with the success of the British Youth Championship at the Adrian Flux Arena last weekend with a healthy turnout.

And on Monday he went to Scunthorpe for their challenge match with Leicester which included former Stars Simon Lambert and Ryan Kinsley.

The meeting sold out of the available tickets in line with restricted numbers under current circumstances and Allitt said: “Everyone is starved of speedway, it’s as simple as that.

“We proved on Sunday that the sport can return to the Adrian Flux Arena and I’m really hopeful we can get some more meetings on before the season ends.

“We may even look at a team meeting with a Stars side using our club assets at National League level because I thought Monday at Scunthorpe was excellent.

“And I’m still not ruling out a meeting in October, hopefully to include Robert Lambert so we can welcome him back home as European Champion.

“We jumped through lots of hoops to get to the stage where we could stage a meeting and it all worked superbly. Who would have thought, back in April and May, that we would be back racing with a crowd.

“I must emphasise the crowds are only allowed for grassroots sport at this stage but things are changing all the time and it will be interesting to see what develops with professional football going forward. If crowds are allowed for a higher level in October then that gives us a chance to do something.”

Feedback from fans in attendance on Sunday has been all positive and have already made it clear to the club via social media that they want more racing soon.
