PREVIEW: STARS v WOLVERHAMPTON

Wednesday May 26, 2021
KING’S Lynn’s German racer Erik Riss is hoping they can pick up where they left off last week when Wolverhampton visit the Adrian Flux Arena on Thursday (7.30).

Riss admitted his bike wasn’t set up right for the conditions after heavy rain on opening night but finished the defeat at the hands of Ipswich strongly.

It’s the second home meeting of the season with a highly rated Wolverhampton side making the trip.

Said Riss: “Last week was difficult for the team, it was tough at the start because of all the rain we had. I’ve ridden King’s Lynn probably 40 times now and my setup just wasn’t right .

“Hopefully we can get things right from the start against Wolverhampton. We need to pick up from where we left off against Ipswich when we finished the meeting strongly, it was disappointing to lose but we can take the positives from it.

“The fans were great with us last week, they didn’t get on our backs, it was just so good to have speedway back at King’s Lynn.

“It was the first time in nearly two years since we had raced there and it was a great night it was just a shame we couldn’t get the right result. Hopefully we can put that right against Wolverhampton.”

Wolverhampton include former Stars favourite Rory Schlein and they also hand a belated debut to talented American youngster Broc Nicol.

The Minors and Brady Stars are unchanged from last week’s opener.

Fans are reminded to try and arrive a little earlier with social distancing in operation throughout the venue.

KING’S LYNN: Craig Cook, Ty Proctor, Thomas Jorgensen, Lewis Kerr, Erik Riss, Lewis Bridger, Ryan Kinsley.
