STARS AIMING TO HIT BACK

Wednesday June 30, 2021
KING’S Lynn co-promoter Dale Allitt insists current form counts for little when Peterborough visit the Adrian Flux Arena in Premiership derby action on Thursday (7.30).

Peter Schroeck’s side are reeling from last Thursday’s setback against Belle Vue but Allitt insists it’s time to move on and everyone at the club needs to stick together.

Aussie ace Cameron Heeps makes his Minors and Brady Stars debut after joining from Ipswich and former club captain Rory Schlein deputises for Thomas Jorgensen. Erik Riss is out with a shoulder injury and the club will cover his four programmed rides by sharing them around his colleagues under the rider replacement facility.

Said Allitt: “Form goes out of the window in any local derby. Peterborough had a good win against Sheffield on Monday night and here at King’s Lynn we are still licking our wounds from last week’s defeat. We start with a clean slate tonight and hope we can turn things round.

“The boys have to be up for it. We’ve not started meetings well at all in recent times and by about Heat 8 it’s too late and we’ve left ourselves with too much to do.

“For that reason I feel it’s important the boys make a good start tonight, we need to get some points on the board early on and avoid the disaster of a first half we’ve been having.

“I’m sure Rob (Lyon) will have his boys fired up and I have no doubt Pete will do the same with our lads, I’m looking forward to a good competitive meeting.”

Tickets remain on sale via the club website with a hefty contingent from Peterborough expected to make the short trip across.

KING’S LYNN: Rory Schlein, Erik Riss R/R, Cameron Heeps, Lewis Kerr, Richard Lawson, Ricky Wells, Connor Mountain.

PETERBOROUGH: Bjarne Pedersen, Hans Andersen, Michael Palm Toft, Scott Nicholls, Chris Harris, Jordan Palin, Ulrich Ostergaard.
