STARS BOSS SINGS LAWSON PRAISES

Sunday July 04, 2021
KING’S Lynn boss Peter Schroeck has singled out former Ipswich rider Richard Lawson for special praise ahead of Monday’s clash between the sides at the Adrian Flux Arena (7.30).

Lynn are still desperately searching for their first home win of the season having clocked up a victory at Foxhall when the teams last met.

Lawson came into the side after only two meetings and has been one of many changes as the Minors and Brady Stars try and find the right balance.

The British Final runner-up has scored double figures in every meeting so far despite people pointing out that he isn’t a number one.

Said Schroeck: I’ve been around speedway a long time, and I’d say Richard Lawson is one of the easiest people you’ll ever meet to work with.

“Nothing is a problem, he gets on with it, and he brings a calmness to the team that I wanted. That’s why we had to make the changes, and whilst many people might think he’s not an out-and-out No.1, look at his scores and wherever he goes he’s in double figures – he’s a class act.

“We are more than capable of doing something against Ipswich, and bringing Scott Nicholls in as a guest adds to the experience in the team until we get our own boys back. We have to keep going, we still have 14 matches to go.”

Nicholls, who scored well at Lynn for Peterborough on Thursday, steps in for the injured Erik Riss who is expected to be out for another two or three weeks.

Ipswich will be without Jason Crump who is still struggling with rib damage and Belle Vue’s Steve Worrall steps in.

Tickets remain on sale for the meeting by clicking the link on the homepage of the official club website.
