NEW SIGNING RELISHING HOME DEBUT

Wednesday August 11, 2021
FORMER British Final bronze medallist Ben Barker is relishing the prospect of his home debut for King’s Lynn in Thursday’s derby clash with Peterborough (7.30).

All-action Barker has been signed in the latest round of team changes at the Adrian Flux Arena and has vowed to give it his all with a view to securing a spot for 2022.

He’s thrilled to be making his debut in a derby between two great rivals and has revealed how he has got the bug back for racing after suffering injuries and other issues.

“I’m enjoying my speedway more than ever,” he said.

“I never thought I’d get the bug back for the sport like this, but it’s well and truly bitten me.

“I’m like a kid in the van heading to the meetings, I’m buzzing with excitement, it feels like I’m just starting out again I’m that excited by it all.

“I’m prepared to put the miles in and you know I give it my heart and soul in every race I enter. That will never change as far as I’m concerned.”

Danish favourite Kasper Andersen also makes a welcome return home for his second spell at the Adrian Flux Arena and the Minors and Brady Stars are at full strength.

Peterborough arrive in a confident mood after a stunning win at Belle Vue on Monday and will fancy their chances of an away win.

“We’ll have something to say about that,” added Barker. “It’s a great meeting for me to make my home debut and I’m looking forward to showing the King’s Lynn fans my all-out effort.”

Fans are reminded the best and quickest way to gain entry is by booking tickets in advance from the link on the club website homepage – but the box office will also be open for pay on the night.

All the usual catering, bar and souvenir shop facilities will be available and the meeting programme will be on sale for £3 on entry to the stadium.
