PREMIERSHIP PAIRS ROUND 3 PREVIEW

Wednesday July 06, 2022
KING’S Lynn play host to the league’s top stars when they stage Round 3 of the Premiership Pairs at the Adrian Flux Arena on Thursday (7.30pm).

The Minors & Brady Stars are the joint series leaders after two rounds, having won the opener at Peterborough in May, and they will one again be represented by skipper Josh Pickering and Richard Lawson, with Jason Edwards as reserve.

It's an important period in the competition as Round 4 also takes place shortly at Wolverhampton a week on Monday (July 18).

There are strong line-ups declared throughout, with the Stars currently level with Sheffield at the top.

GP star Jack Holder and British Champion Adam Ellis are in town for the Tigers, whilst third-placed Ipswich are represented by Jason Doyle and Danny King, and the line-up also includes Max Fricke for Belle Vue, in-form Chris Harris for Peterborough, and Wolves skipper Sam Masters.

Stars co-promoter Dale Allitt said: “I’ve enjoyed the opening two rounds of the Pairs because it’s fresh and new.

“In speedway, we’re often accused of not trying different things – well, this is a new event which goes around every Premiership track, and it’s proving to be popular so far.

“We’re in a solid position, we all know what Picko and Richard can do around here and it would be nice for them to build on a strong start by capitalising on our home track advantage.

“It promises to be a quality night when you consider the riders on display!”

Supporters should note that normal admission prices apply, but there are no pre-sales for this event. The meeting features 15 heats plus semi-final and Final.
