STARS v SHEFFIELD, PREVIEW

Wednesday September 07, 2022
KING’S Lynn will be without recent signing Frederik Jakobsen when Sheffield come to town on Thursday (7.30).

The Dane crashed in Sweden on Tuesday when racing for Dackarna, and whilst hospital x-rays thankfully revealed no broken bones, he is extremely sore and has pulled out of bookings in Denmark and the UK this week, with the situation to be re-assessed after the weekend.

Jakobsen's fellow countryman Jonas Knudsen, who has performed well since joining Championship club Berwick earlier this season, has been booked to guest.

The Minors & Brady Stars do welcome back Thomas Jorgensen from illness and Jack Thomas into the Rising Star berth following his successful dry run as number eight in last week's 46-44 victory over Peterborough.

They face a tough test with the Tigers back to a complete one-to-seven and possessing plenty of power.

On-song Tobiasz Musielak’s form has taken him up to number one with Grand Prix star Jack Holder at number five, while Lewis Kerr and Connor Mountain are both very familiar with the Adrian Flux Arena.

“We will have to be on our game,” admitted team boss Alex Brady.

“They have Lewi in there, he will be looking to prove a point I am sure. We will have to be a lot better than we were last week to get the result we want.

“If everyone gets behind us again, like they have done all season, I am sure we are capable of doing the job.”

KING’S LYNN: Nicolai Klindt, Thomas Jorgensen, Josh Pickering, Richie Worrall, Richard Lawson, Guest Jonas Knudsen, Jack Thomas.
SHEFFIELD: Tobiasz Musielak, Lewis Kerr, Adam Ellis, Kyle Howarth, Jack Holder, Justin Sedgmen, Connor Mountain.
