FRED CAN’T WAIT!

Friday January 20, 2023
KING’S Lynn’s Danish star Frederik Jakobsen is counting the days until the start of an exciting 2023 campaign.

The 24-year-old was huge success when he joined the Minors & Brady Stars in the closing stages of last season, with a string of high scores at reserve.

And the final home meeting against Belle Vue saw the club deliver the excellent news that they had signed him up for the full year this time around.

Immediately after racing ended in early November, Jakobsen enjoyed a closed-season break in Australia with skipper Josh Pickering and team manager Alex Brady, before returning home and working on preparations for 2023.

Along with racing for the Stars, he will also be competing for Grudziadz in the Polish Ekstraliga and Region Varde in his home country of Denmark, with Stars team-mates Pickering and Michael Palm Toft also in the squad.

Jakobsen said: “I’ve been pretty busy over the winter, travelling a bit, and getting back home and getting all my sponsor work and bikes sorted.

“Logistically I’m getting ready for a new season, a very busy season, but something I’m looking forward to.

“I can’t wait to get going with King’s Lynn as well. I’ve been pretty busy training for the last few weeks, and we’ve still got a few more weeks and months to go.

“A bit more training and we’ll be all good for the first race to come along.”

Meanwhile, the club wish to remind supporters that Season Tickets for 2023 remain on sale, covering all 12 home Premiership matches and one KO Cup fixture.

With a programme included for adult Season Tickets, the total saving compared to purchasing individual match-by-match tickets is £65, and Season Tickets are interchangeable so can be used by friends or family if you cannot attend a meeting.

Season Ticket Holders will also be given the opportunity to watch three races from the centre by prior arrangement – the fastest way of viewing speedway!

All Season Tickets purchased before February 14 will be placed into a draw, where the winner will be included on Press Day and have a photo taken with the team and signed.

Season Tickets are priced at £260 (adults), £234 (concessions) and £50 (children, not including programme). All applications should be made to seasontickets@kingslynn-speedway.com .

With the Premiership fixture list confirmed and the Ben Fund Bonanza taking place at the Adrian Flux Arena on Saturday March 25 (5pm), the club are currently finalising arrangements for Press & Practice, and those details should be available soon.
