LEICESTER v STARS, PREVIEW

Wednesday June 12, 2024
KING’S LYNN make their second trip of the season to Leicester on Thursday (June 13, 7.30pm) - and club chiefs have made two shrewd guest bookings.

Tom Brennan comes in at No.1 having secured this year’s British Grand Prix Wild Card spot at Cardiff after finishing third in Saturday’s Attis Insurance Sports Division British Final.

Whilst down at reserve, former triple British Under-19 Champion Drew Kemp deputises with a point to prove having been released by the Lions a fortnight ago.

The PSH Environmental Stars produced an encouraging performance at the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena back in March in their ROWE Motor Oil Premiership opener, narrowly edged out 47-42.

And with Leicester having lost three times at home already in all competitions this term, Stars team manager Rob Lyon says his side will head to the East Midlands hopeful having beaten reigning league champions Sheffield by ten points in the Knockout Cup last time out.

“We go with an open mind if I’m honest,” Lyon said.

“Leicester are doing quite well themselves but they’ve had some mixed results at home this year.

“We’ll, obviously, try and get a result and as I’ve said before, it’s all about momentum.

“The team needs confidence and over these last few weeks, you can see it’s starting to come, there are a few more smiles on faces and let’s hope there are even more soon.”

For any supporters unable to make the trip to Leicester, the fixture will be streamed via LionsTV at: https://www.leicesterlionstv.com
