KING'S Lynn race their only home match in the month of May with Sheffield in town for a big ROWE Motor Oil Premiership clash on Monday (7.30pm).
The PSH Environmental Stars will be pleased to get back to the Adrina Flux Arena after missing out in recent away matches at Ipswich and Leicester.
Their opponents are very much on a high as the Tigers finally ended Ipswich's 100 per cent start to the season with a 46-44 win in a thriller at Owlerton on Monday.
The South Yorkshire side previously had a sensational record on their visits to Lynn, but this was very much reversed in the Stars' favour last year.
They won all three of their home matches against the Tigers in 2024, including 51-39 and 48-42 results in the league.
But there is no doubting the strength of the opposition, even in the absence of Tai Woffinden who was seriously injured just before their campaign got underway.
Saturday's FIM Grand Prix of Poland winner Jack Holder lines up at No.1 fresh from his triumph in Warsaw and is an AFA track specialist, and there are four former Stars elsewhere in the side.
That includes ex-Lynn captains Josh Pickering and Lewis Kerr, with Pickering having been in great form so far this year, and whilst Chris Holder's time with the club was brief by comparison, Anders Rowe was a huge success as Rising Star in 2023/24 and he has also taken another big step forward this year.
Stars are set to line up as a six-man team again in the absence of the injured Ben Cook, with their "˜home' riding order featuring Jan Kvech moving to No.2 to partner Chris Harris whilst Richard Lawson reverts to No.5.
Manager Rob Lyon said: "We've got a couple of matches left in May, one at home to Sheffield and one away at Birmingham, and these are crucial matches for us now.
"We need to be getting some points on the board from these matches, and I think we need to take stock at the end of May and see where we're at.
"Sheffield are a good team, and we can all see the way things are shaping up, but last year we were good against Sheffield at home and there's no reason why we can't do the same again."
