KING'S Lynn Young Stars will have a new riding order when they travel to Plymouth on Saturday looking to keep their 100 per cent record going.
With an astonishing average of 10.18 from his first four NDT matches, Cooper Rushen moves up into the main body of the team "" although skipper Jody Scott holds on to the No.1 position as he is on 10.32!
The Blueprint Construction Young Stars will bring in Arran Butcher as a guest at the Coliseum, as Ashton Vale is unavailable due to work commitments.
Team manager Jason Pipe updates the current position: "From this Saturday our riders will have their new averages, which now sees Cooper go into the main top five and Harrison Rogers now going to reserve, where I'm sure Harrison will find his feet better.
"Cooper's new average is 10.18, but just holding on to the No.1 spot is Jody Scott with 10.32. It's not often you see a rider achieve a 10-point average and not go to No.1!
"The only time I can remember back to, when a team had more than one 10-point rider in it, were the Newcastle Diamonds in 1983, the year in which they won the old National League title and they had three of them in the team, who were Rod Hunter, Joe Owen and Bobby Beaton.
"There's probably others over the years but this was just from memory and also confirmed to me by ex-Newcastle promoter George English, who I was out at a party with just recently.
"Because he is under 18, we are allowed to bring in a guest or use Rider Replacement to cover for Ashton. R/R just wouldn't work, as only our two reserves, Harrison and Calum, along with Max could take the rides and with both reserves not having ridden at Plymouth before, it was much better to bring in a guest.
"I've worked with Arran in the past when I was involved at Peterborough and he's a rider who will fit well into the team on Saturday and has ridden the Plymouth track a few times now.
"We are all very much looking forward to going to Plymouth on Saturday and hopefully keep our unbeaten run going. All the lads are really up for this and hopefully we can carry on unbeaten and take the two points back to Norfolk.
"The weather forecast looks great for the next few days, so if any of our fans are half thinking of making the trip to support us and maybe spend some time in the lovely area of Devon, now is your chance!
"We do have some of our fans who like to go to our away meetings and my message to them is, "why stay in the garden or go and dangle your feet off the pier at Great Yarmouth, when you have the marina in Plymouth and the lovely places to visit in Devon and you can have the bonus of cheering on the boys too!'"
Full team news for Saturday's meeting to follow later this week.
