KING'S Lynn look to take another step towards the National Development Trophy title when they host Kent Eagles at the Adrian Flux Arena on Wednesday (7.30pm).
The Blueprint Construction Young Stars suffered a setback when they missed out at Plymouth on Saturday, ending their 100 per cent record at the fifth time of asking.
But they are still very well placed at the top of the table, and victory over a dangerous Iwade side would be another major boost.
Kent sit third in the NDT standings thanks to home wins over Leicester and Plymouth, whilst their one away match so far saw them lose out in a controversial Super Heat after a 44-44 draw at Birmingham.
Young Stars manager Jason Pipe said: "If we have hopes of winning the National Development Trophy, we must bounce back against Kent, after our recent surprising defeat away to Plymouth.
"That defeat really hurt. I know Plymouth is always a hard place to go and get something, but we should have won that meeting. With them using r/r for a 3.00 rider and having the firepower we have, it was a meeting that we should have been winning.
"For me that's two points thrown away. Some bad luck and a poor decision by the trainee referee is what cost us at Plymouth. But we now move on from this.
"We have a hard meeting coming up against Kent, who were many people's tip to win the Trophy once all the teams were announced.
"We now have two of our last three meetings at home and Calum (Mitchell) has shown what he can do around our home track so far, so I'm hoping our reserves can at least score eight or nine points between them and take that little pressure off the top five.
"Kent have three good heat leaders against us, and their two reserves could upset a few, so we really need to get our noses in front from the very first race.
"Looking at the fixtures that we still have left to race, it could even come down to who wins the aggregate point between ourselves and Kent for who takes the title, so we must win this home meeting to save ourselves from having a difficult task of having to go to Kent and get a win.
"I'm looking for at least a win of 10-12 points to take to Kent with us on August 10."
Arran Butcher, who guested for the Young Stars at Plymouth, once again comes in for Ashton Vale who is missing due to work commitments.
The Eagles are without injured No.1 Nathan Ablitt, but Freddy Hodder is a strong guest alongside fellow heat leaders Ben Morley and Vinnie Foord, whilst Ryan Ingram comes in to form a lively reserve duo with Jamie Etherington.
KING'S LYNN: Jody Scott, Arran Butcher, Cooper Rushen, Max Perry, Luke Harrison, Harrison Rogers, Calum Mitchell. KENT: Freddy Hodder, Nathan Hargrave r/r, Vinnie Foord, Luke Harris, Ben Morley, Jamie Etherington, Ryan Ingram.
