KING'S Lynn return to the scene of their most memorable result of 2025 when they make the short trip to Ipswich on Thursday (7.30pm).
The sides meet in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership where the Witches have led the way for the majority of the campaign, but they were stunned by the Stars in the recent KO Cup semi-final.
Few neutrals gave Lynn a chance of defending a six-point first leg lead, but in a dramatic Foxhall encounter they drew 45-45 on the night to dump their local rivals out of the competition.
Ipswich have recovered well from that setback with a series of convincing home wins, although they were beaten 49-41 at Leicester on Monday in a meeting which featured two of the play-off qualifying teams, and they are battling to maintain top spot ahead of the title-deciding fixtures next month.
The Witches have their full septet in place with Jason Edwards continuing as a 28-day replacement for the injured Jordan Jenkins "" who has now returned to racing in the Championship, giving them a decision to make in due course - whilst a recent positional switch to move Adam Ellis to No.2 has paid dividends in recent home matches.
The Stars were without Niels-Kristian Iversen and Ben Cook for the Cup semi-final, but they are both in a full team on Thursday which is unchanged in riding order from the huge win over Oxford at the Adrian Flux Arena.
The aggregate point is also a factor, although on this occasion there are only two points between the sides after Lynn raced to a dramatic 46-44 home win just three days before the Cup drama.
Stars manager Rob Lyon said: "We know it will be tough because they are back to full strength as well, and they're going quite well at the moment, as we are.
"I'm sure it will be a great match, and we will be giving it 100 per cent. I've always said if a team gives 100 per cent we can't ask for any more than that, and if that's good enough to get us over the line then so be it.
"It would be nice for the fans obviously if we could do the double. The local rivalry is good and healthy for all the fans and everyone involved in the sport, so let's see what happens!"
