KING'S Lynn star Chris Harris took a dramatic victory in Round 3 of the FIM Long Track World Championship at German venue Scheesel on Sunday.
The win gives Harris a chance of taking the World title itself when the final round of the series takes place in the Netherlands next month.
Fellow British rider Zach Wajtknecht had led the standings after two rounds, but he was excluded from the Final after a clash with defending World Champion Martin Smolinski.
Harris then made a superb start in the re-run to defeat home star Lukas Fienhage, with former Reading and Newport favourite Andrew Appleton third for his first rostrum finish in 14 years.
It means the top three overall are covered by just four points heading to Roden on September 21 with Fienhage leading the standings on 55 ahead of Wajtknecht on 53 and Harris on 51, with Smolinski still just in contention on 47.
