NICOLAI Klindt thanked everyone involved in organising, competing and attending his Testimonial meeting at the Adrian Flux Arena on Sunday.
The weather did its very best to affect proceedings and did force a slight curtailment to the schedule, but the 16-heat Four Team Tournament did take place along with Young Lions demo races.
As expected, the sides proved closely matched, with Wolverhampton tying with Poole on 26 points despite the withdrawal of Fredrik Lindgren due to family reasons.
The scores were levelled in a battle on the last lap of the final race as Jacob Thorssell contested third place with Brady Kurtz in slippery conditions, with the Swede repassing the World No.2 off the last bend.
Earlier, there had been some tremendous action in Heat 3 when Sam Masters rounded Chris Harris on the opening lap and then fended off the King’s Lynn captain’s return challenge in a photo finish.
And in Heat 15, Tom Brennan produced a superb ride in difficult conditions to make his way around first Rasmus Jensen and then Ryan Douglas.
Brennan and Douglas both scored ten points, and it was Brennan who was declared the individual winner on countback as it was not possible to stage the planned meeting finale due to the rain.
Elsewhere, the meeting was great experience for Stars youngster Jody Scott, who stepped in for Lindgren, whilst former Lynn racer Mads Korneliussen showed plenty of competitive spirit and fast gating.
Unfortunately Niels-Kristian Iversen was a withdrawal after a heavy crash on the third bend of Heat 7 when he clipped the rear wheel of Thorssell, sending both riders into the fence.
Klindt said: “I have to thank the boys for showing up and putting on a great show, even when the conditions weren’t the best.
“Thanks to Buster (Chapman), Luke and Paul at the stadium and everyone at the stadium who worked hard through the night and in the early morning.
“I was there at 9am in blue skies and sunshine, I knew there was a possibility of rain, and I’m pleased and appreciate everyone who was there along with the viewers of the stream at home.
“I want to thank my committee, my friends, family and sponsors, everyone who has supported the meeting with products or packages. They all know who they are, and I really appreciate it.”
