KING’S Lynn racer Jan Kvech has been named as Czech Republic captain for the first semi-final of the Speedway World Cup next month.
The meeting in Landshut takes place on Friday May 1 and sees the hosts Germany take on Great Britain, the Czechs and Ukraine.
Kvech is set to lead his nation in event and he could well be joined in the five-man line-up by ex-Stars rider Vaclav Milik.
In fact, three of the four nations are captained by riders with strong Lynn connections as Robert Lambert leads Great Britain, who now have Olly Allen in sole charge after Simon Stead stepped down over the winter.
And the German team will be captained by another former Star, Kai Huckenbeck, with Erik Riss and Kevin Wolbert, who have both had spells at the Adrian Flux Arena, also in their squad.
