STARS v NORTHAMPTON, PREVIEW

Sunday April 19, 2026
KING’S Lynn host British Speedway’s newest team on Monday as the Northampton Foxes take to the track for the first time at the Adrian Flux Arena (7.30pm).

The Knockout Cup clash is the first meeting for the Foxes, who were finally confirmed as the Premiership’s sixth team last month and are currently completing preparations for opening at the well-appointed Brafield Stadium.

For the PSH Environmental Stars it’s an important night as they look to put a win on the board in the KO Cup as they get set for their league campaign.

And whilst the Foxes, managed by former Birmingham boss Chris Adams, have been put together at a very late stage, they bring with them a significant amount of AFA track knowledge.

The visitors will be led by former Stars skipper Nicolai Klindt, with Lynn delighted to see both Klindt and Niels-Kristian Iversen fixed up with the newcomers.

Iversen, however, misses out as he is still not fit to race following his heavy crash in Klindt’s Testimonial meeting last month, and the Foxes will operate rider replacement.

Other former Lynn riders for the visitors are their Rising Star from the closing part of last season Luke Harrison, Kye Thomson who had a spell with the club in 2023, and former GP rider Troy Batchelor.

Elsewhere Jaimon Lidsey has made the move from Belle Vue to take the No.1 berth and Slovenian star Matej Zagar is another headline signing.

The Stars name an unchanged line-up from last week’s clash with Ipswich, and it’s their final meeting before the league campaign gets underway against Sheffield on April 27.

Manager Rob Lyon said: “There were things to work on last week, and I just hope the boys can turn it around ready for the league, and I’m sure they will do that.

“The KO Cup is still up for grabs because both ourselves and Ipswich still have to go to Northampton, which will be something of an unknown for everyone

“But we need to get a home win first on Monday and then hopefully we can kick on from that.”
