KING’S Lynn enter unknown territory on Thursday with their first-ever visit to the Premiership’s newest venue Northampton.
The Foxes opened up last week to a big crowd at the Northampton International Shaleway, although they are still looking for their first win of the season.
For the PSH Environmental Stars it will be extremely useful track time, with the fixture being their final match of their Knockout Cup group with Ipswich already having confirmed progression to the Final.
But there are two more league visits to follow at Northampton, the next one coming in less than a month on June 4, so the meeting will be important in terms of gathering information.
With a ten-point advantage for the aggregate point, Lynn should be confident of returning with some reward, and a first away win of the season would also set things up for a big run of league matches later this month.
The Stars are at full strength and are unchanged from the defeat at Ipswich on Bank Holiday Monday, and skipper Chris Harris was in attendance as a spectator at last week’s opening .night.
Meanwhile Ben Cook will come up against his brother Zach, who has been recruited to guest for the Foxes as they have suffered a major injury setback.
Slovenian star Matej Zagar broke an ankle in a crash at Belle Vue on Monday and now faces several weeks on the sidelines, adding to their concerns with Niels-Kristian Iversen yet to make an appearance for the club this season. Lewis Kerr steps in for Iversen on Thursday.
Stars manager Rob Lyon said: “It’s a little bit of a dead rubber for us because it’s a Cup match, but it will still be good experience for everyone.
“It gives us a chance to get some knowledge of the track and set-ups and whatever, ready for when we go back there in the league in June.”
Stars supporters not making the trip to Northampton should note the meeting is being live streamed by the British Speedway Network and will be available from https://www.britishspeedwaynetwork.co.uk/ .
