KING’S LYNN boss Alex Brady conceded his team carried too many passengers as they were heavily beaten 60-30 at Sheffield.

The MacInnes Stars were restricted to just two race winners in South Yorkshire on another difficult night in the Sports Insure Premiership.

They were dealt a blow on the morning of the fixture when former World No.2 Krzysztof Kasprzak informed the club he had woken up feeling ill - and things didn’t get much better when they got started at Owlerton either.

On his first meeting back, skipper Josh Pickering was withdrawn after just two outings as he aggravated the shoulder injury which has kept him on the sidelines in recent weeks.

Boss Brady, understandably, cut a frustrated figure after the fixture - and has reassured supporters that he is looking at things behind the scenes to provide the Club with a much needed boost.

“That was really disappointing,” he said.

“We came here tonight believing we had a good chance - but unfortunately we had too many passengers.

“We didn’t perform as well as we should’ve done, we were beaten by by far the better side and it’s difficult to take too many positives from that, it was just a terrible night really.

“We need a lift and we need it quickly.

“Hopefully over the coming few days we’ll get the lift that we need, both on and off the track, with some positive news because I’m not prepared to let the season peter out.”

The MacInnes Stars host Sheffield in the return leg at the Adrian Flux Arena next Thursday (June 1, 7.30).
