LEICESTER v STARS, PREVIEW

Wednesday September 04, 2024
KING’S Lynn will enjoy the rare novelty of naming an unchanged team when they complete their ROWE Motor Oil Premiership campaign at Leicester on Thursday (7.30pm).

PSH Environmental Stars boss Rob Lyon has given a vote of thanks to the line-up which ended the Lions’ long unbeaten run at the Adrian Flux Arena on Monday, and will send out the same one to seven in the East Midlands.

Ironically the season ends as it began for the Stars as their first league match of 2024 also took place at Leicester back in March, but much has changed over the past five and a half months.

Only captain Niels-Kristian Iversen and Rising Star Anders Rowe – who is now in the main body of the team – remain from the side which was on duty back in March and went down to a narrow five-point defeat.

For this finale, Stars once again call upon Chris Harris, Norick Blodorn and Simon Lambert to take guest bookings.

Leicester, who had been unbeaten in ten league matches prior to the Stars’ 48-42 win on Monday, make one change to their line-up with Rising Star Sam Hagon still ruled out.

Joe Thompson, who started the season in their Premiership team and has continued to captain the NDL side, comes in to guest.

Lyon said: “Our main focus over the last few weeks has been to win our home meetings, and it’s been a fantastic effort to win all of the last four in quick succession, and against several teams who I’m sure would have expected to come to King’s Lynn and win.

“I guess that probably makes us the in-form team along with Leicester, which seems crazy, and of course it would be great to pull off a shock there.

“We’ll go there and give it 100 per cent, and see where that takes us.”

Stars supporters unbale to make the trip to the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena, Beaumont Park should note that live streaming of the meeting will be available from Lions TV – passes available from https://www.leicesterlionstv.com/ .
